Judgements of the Sahrawi students in Rabat and the political prisoners in El-Ayoune

The nine Sahrawi students arrested recently in Rabat, appeared, yesterday, Tuesday June 12, 2007, before the court of first authority. The court, after a five hours meeting, condemned these prisoners to eight month of prison and five hundred dirhams of fine. The Sahrawi students arrested recently in Rabat, appeared, today, Tuesday June 05, 2007, before the court of first authority of Rabat. The court decided to defer the trial to June 12, 2007. These students, whose situation is very alarming, following the ill treatment that they have endured during the police custody, were supprted, during this hearing, by international observers, in particular, Mrs. Ines MIRANDA and Mrs. Ruth, from Spain, just as Sahrawi lawyers and other lawyers of the AMDH (Moroccan Association of the Human Rights).

In El-Ayoune, the court of Appeal decided to postpone the trial if, Mr. Elwali AMIDANE, Mr. Yahdih TARROUZI et Mr. Bachri benalla to June 26th, 2007.

5. Mr. Lakhlifa ELJANHAWI (ex-politique prisonner, in a visite to Rabat), born in 20/05/1980 in El-Ayoune, Case N°28194

6. Mr. Mohamed ELALAWI, baccalaureat student, Lettres, born in 16/03/1986 in El-Ayoune, Case N° 28195
