Condolences: Mr. Chaibani Elbambari, 1964-2007

Mr. Chaibani Elbambari, born in 1964 in El-Ayoune, died today, October 18, 2007, at about 7:00 am, from several diseases that he had suffered after years of enforced disappearance in the PC-CMI (Command Post – Mobile Company of Intervention) of Morocco. Mr. Elbambari was kidnapped by Moroccan authorities on 9 November 1988 along with a group of Sahrawis in the city of Boujdour, among them: Mr. Ali Elbambari, Mr. Laaroussi Bakar, and Mr. Abderrahman Ahmed Ould (nicknamed « Chale ») and Mr. Adallah Boumehdi who died in the secret detention centre PC-CMI. Mr. Elbambari was released in 1991 with other victims of forced disappearance, known as the Kalaat Megounat group and El-Ayoune.

On this sad occasion, members of ASVDH present their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Similarly, ASVDH was saddened by the news of the death of Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Ould Brahim BENTALEB, brother of the Saharawi political prisoner Mr Bachri BENTALEB, today following a road accident near Dakhla.
