Moroccan police arrest Western Saharan rights activists before trial

Earlier today, Moroccan police in Tan Tan detained several Western Saharan human rights activists, including several members of ASVDH.

As of 17h00 GMT, the Moroccan police had not filed charges against the detainees. They are being held in the Tan Tan civil police station.
Moroccan police officer, Mustapha Kamour, carried out the arrests. Kamour is notorious for his abusive and excessive treatment during a posting in El-Ayoun, Western Sahara.
The detained activists are in Tan Tan to observe the trial of Naama ASAFRI, a Western Saharan human rights defender currently facing proceedings in a Moroccan court.
