In a phone call with ASVDH, Ngaya El-Haouassi told us that, upon her arrival at the Casablanca Voyagers rail station at about 15h00, on 18 November 2009, the Moroccan police officers who accompanied her and Hayat Rguibi from the airport, returned them their passports.

However, they did not return their boarding passes for their flight to Great Britain. No reason was given for the Moroccan authorities refusal to give them their tickets back.

ASVDH notes that the Moroccan authorities have previously done likewise with Hamada Ismaili (a member of the Committee to Defend the Right to Self-Determination for the people of Western Sahara) outside the French consulate in Agadir. His passport was confiscated, along with his entire French visa applicaiton; only the former was returned.

ASVDH denounces such illegal practices of the Moroccan government and demands that Sahrawi to enjoy their fundamental freedoms.
