A Moroccan court in Agadir has sentenced two Western Saharan students to several years in prison for participating in a demonstration.
Ismail El-Bashir received 4 years while Youssef Lbraik received 3 years.
They were arrested during a violent police crackdown on a student demonstration at the University Ibn Zouher in southern Morocco on 7 November.
In other news, the free speech trial of two Western Saharan students, Abdellah Dihani and Baba Ali Toumi, was postponed to 26 November 2009.
ASVDH strongly denounces the unfair sentence against Ismaili El-Bachir and Youssef Lbraik. ASVDH asks for international human rights organizations to send their delegates to attend the appeal hearing of Abdellah Dihani and Baba Ali Toumi on 26 November 2009.
