Morocco releases Western Saharan political prisoner

Moroccan authorities released yesterday, Monday, September 15, 2008, the Sahrawi political prisoner Mr. Bachir KHADDA after having served his sentence.

We recall that Mr. Bachir KHADDA (21 years) was arrested in El-Ayoune on November 14, 2007, and was incarcerated in the Black Prison on November 17. He was sentenced by the Moroccan first degree court of El-Ayoune to ten months imprisonment, later confirmed by the Court of Appeal.
On this occasion, ASVDH would like to present to the released Sahrawi political prisoner, Mr. Bachir KHADDA, and to all members of his family its congratulations. It also renews its claim of the release of all Sahrawi political detainees in Moroccan prisons, including its member and president of ASVDH’s local branch in Boujdour, Mr. Mohamed TAHLIL.
