Date: 20 July 2006
Place: El-Ayoune, Moroccan occupied Western Sahara
SABBAR Limam, brother of SABBAR Brahim, was detained today Thursday 20 July 2006. This was during the time of his family visit to his brother in Civil Prison (« Black Prison ») of El-Ayoune.
Mr Limam Sabbar was found outside of El-Ayoune, forcibly expelled without reason.
ASVDH believes that this harassment is simply because he is the brother of a known Sahrawi human rights defender whom the Moroccan occupation has incriminated on false accusations and biased, unjust inquisitions.
This act reinforces the ASVDH’s deep belief that the Moroccan occupational authorities will not cease to intimidate Sahrawis until the international community takes action to stop it. The United Nations, specifically, must assume its moral obligations in Western Sahara to protect human rights.
