Bneyna ment Maatallah ACHTOUKI
Born in 1989 in El-Ayoune
Student in high school
I took part, with a group of Sahrawi pupils, in a sit-in of solidarity with the Sahrawi students, in the Universities of Morocco, at 20: 00 GMT of Friday May 18, 2007, in the Elfateh district.
We shouted slogans such as:
-No alternative to self-determination
-Sahrawis, hand in hand for the sacrifice
-Students in any place, their dignity will never be reached
After that, I went near the college El-Ayoune III, where a great number of Sahrawi citizens gathered. The place was full.
After half an hour, a great number of Moroccan policemen, in cars of the municipality of El-Ayoune, surprised us. Everyone then dispersed very quickly.
I saw a demonstrator who was being savagely beaten by the Moroccan police force and I tried, with the group who were with me, to save him, but we were encircled.
A policeman held me and beat me on all the parts of my body. But most painful was when they beat me on the eye with the bludgeon. Blood ran out of my eye and I then lost consciousness.
The policemen left me in the street. Fortunately that passers took me home.
