Intimidation, arrest and trial of Sahrawi citizens

Mr. Hassanna DOUIHI has just been today, Friday August 3, 2007, at 14: 00 GMT, victim of a new intimidation. Mr. DOUIHI, who was already held for more 7 hours on last May 20, was retained today by traffic police who confiscated his papers to force him to follow them to the police station. Mr. DOUIHI who is convinced that he did not commit any offence refused to follow the police officers who were in two cars. Until now Mr. DOUIHI doesn’t know the reasons of this illegal act.

In addition, the Moroccan royal gendarmerie arrested Mr. Boujamaa TOUBALI in Daoura, in the north of El-Ayoune, on July 31, 2007. Mr. TOUBALI has been just imprisoned at the black prison on August 1, 2007. A trial was announced against Mr. TOUBALI who appeared before the court of first authority yesterday, Thursday August 2, 2007. This trial was deferred to August 7, 2007.
